How do you derestrict a aprilia rs 50

I would have thought it was, but i haven't got a clue when it comes to bikes. Im learning though! How much is de-restricting and would it be best to de-restrict it then learn how to ride the bike clutch control and gears wise or learn the ropes of gear shifting and then de-restrict? The only thing I can think of is those Aprilia's weren't reallly made to be restricted like they are I might be wrong. I think overall the bike would benefit from derestricting but I am not too sure on the laws on the road regarding derestricted 50s.

I know it invalidates your insurance AND your licence, but i don't exactly feel like being overtaken in a 40 zone. I will also have to keep up with a mate on his on the daily commute to college. I don't intend on being a dick and breaking the speed limit, i just dont wanna be left plodding along as car after car overtakes me. Just derestrict it, everyone does. In fact chances are whatever you buy will probably be running full power already.

I think its safer to de restrict it because you haven't got the worry of people overtaking you on small roads. Yamaha DT You need it derestricting, well i think its abosluitly stupid that at 16 you can only ride a 30 mph moped and use A roads.

Keeping the carburetor baffle plate, I found interesting. You're not the first to mention this. On another moped de-restriction site. It appears that the holes in the baffle plate add up to the same size at the carb inlet.

It was concluded that the purpose of the baffle plate was to reduce inlet roar. Gone, but not forgotten. To hdvp he left forum at least year ago btw you should only keep baffle plate if you have stock 50cc cylinder AND stock derestricted exhaust. There was something like PHVA carb is impossible to tune properly on stock setup without baffle plate. Hi, sorry to reopen this thread, I have a RS4 I have done the stage 1, and still only get 37mph. Anything else I should do or it could be?

You must change it to aftermarket one. Any hints are appreciated: My son bought a Aprilla Rs Euro 4 which we derestricted to 'stage 1'. Any tips are welcome. Long story: We bought it as a non-runner. The engine has been apart, because: - sealant is visible between the flanges of the engine halves, sealant was partially blocking a coolant passage - the flywheel ignition rotor turned out to be loosely fitted on the crankshaft - the primary gear on the crankshaft at the clutch end turned out to be loosely fitted on the crankshaft - the clutch housing was loose on the primary gearbox shaft - the balance shaft was mountend without obeying the marks, so it was an unbalance shaft :- - multiple other minor issues.

So basicly everything that can be butchered was butchered. But, that is all sorted now, and the 49cc standard? It runs fine, only thing is we acn't get it to start on the electric starter but a small push does it any time. The sparkplug has the right color. With the remaining cash that you would have spent on "performance" parts for your ped, you could go out and buy some better safety gear to please your folks. Warming your bike up is sensible, but it wont prevent you having reliability issues, which you will more than likely have if you start tuning it.

Passed 2 minors. Fahd wrote: P.
